Σχέσεις θερμοκρασίας και βροχόπτωσης στη Δυτική Ελλάδα.

Περίληψη

In this study a climatic analysis of two basic meteorological parameters in monthly and annual basis was conducted. These parameters were the air temperature and the rainfall and the geographical domain of the study was the Western Greece. Data of these parameters were collected from 7 meteorological stations and analyzed for each of the stations separately as well as for their common time-period. In the first chapter some basic characteristics of the study area, such as the climate and the anaglyph, are presented. In this chapter is emphasized also, the crucial role of
the Pindos mountain range in the climate of the Western Greece. In the second chapter the data series of the selected parameters are analyzed, while in the next two chapters the general tendencies of these two parameters in time as well as the possibility of their correlation are presented.
More specifically, from the relative frequencies of sums of rainfall are presented the percentages of the one that correspond in the hot and cold part of the relative distributions. In the same chapters (third and fourth respectively), the correlation analysis of the air temperature and rainfall is revealing the main precipitation process (Bergeron-Findeisen or warm-rain process). In the fifth chapter, the quantitative rainfall fluctuations in time are presented in an effort to analyze deeper and in detail this specific parameter. Part of this analysis is considered the annual and monthly variations of the amount of rainfall in relation with the number of the days that these amounts observed. In the next chapter (sixth) scatter plots are used in order to locate the years with extreme values in the air temperature and rainfall. These diagrams are made to characterize the warm (or cold) and moist (dry) years and months respectively (or any combination of them), according to their extreme values Three rainfall indices are calculated in the seventh chapter. These indices are named as extreme intensity of the rainfall, frequency of the extreme rainfall events and
extreme rainfall amount. Finally in the two last chapters, an extensive analysis of the examined parameters is conducted for the whole area of the western Greece (not for every meteorological station separately), while the conclusions of all the analyses that were made, are also
presented.

Στην παρούσα μελέτη πραγματοποιήθηκε κλιματική ανάλυση δυο βασικών παραμέτρων, της θερμοκρασίας του αέρα και της βροχόπτωσης, σε ετήσια και μηνιαία βάση, αντίστοιχα. Η περιοχή ενδιαφέροντος είναι η ευρύτερη περιοχή της Δυτικής Ελλάδας. Η ανάλυση των παραμέτρων αυτών έγινε για επτά (7) μετεωρολογικούς σταθμούς ξεχωριστά αλλά και μαζί για την κοινή τους περίοδο. Ουσιαστικά γίνεται μια προσπάθεια για να επιτευχθεί ένας τρόπος σύνδεσης μεταξύ των δυο παραμέτρων που εξετάζονται, έτσι ώστε μια ικανοποιητική γνώση για το ένα στοιχείο να μπορεί να δώσει μια παρόμοια δυνατότητα και για το άλλο. Στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζονται κάποια ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά της υπό μελέτη περιοχής, όπως το κλίμα και η τοπογραφία αυτής. Τονίζεται ο καθοριστικός ρόλος που παίζει η οροσειρά της Πίνδου στην εξέλιξη και διαμόρφωση του κλίματος για τη συγκεκριμένη περιοχή. Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο γίνεται αναφορά στην ανάλυση και επεξεργασία των δεδομένων που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν και για τις δυο μετεωρολογικές παραμέτρους. Στο τρίτο και τέταρτο κεφάλαιο, αναλύονται οι γενικές τάσεις μεταβολής των παραμέτρων αυτών ως προς το χρόνο καθώς και ο εντοπισμός ενός πιθανού τρόπου συσχέτισης μεταξύ τους. Από τις σχετικές συχνότητες των ποσών βροχόπτωσης παρουσιάζονται τα ποσοστά αυτής που αντιστοιχούν στο θερμό και ψυχρό τμήμα της κατανομής. Κατά τη διαδικασία ανάλυσης της συσχέτισης των δύο αυτών παραμέτρων αναδεικνύεται επίσης ότι, η βασική διαδικασία έναρξης σχηματισμού της βροχόπτωσης είναι η διαδικασία σύγκρουσης και συνένωσης των νεφοσταγονιδίων (collision and  coalescence process). Η κατά Bergeron-Findeisen συνεισφέρει αλλά όχι ως αρχική διαδικασία βροχόπτωσης. Στο πέμπτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζεται η ποσοτική διακύμανση της βροχόπτωσης ως προς το χρόνο, προκειμένου να διαπιστωθεί μια όσο το δυνατόν πιο αντικειμενική
