Γεωφυσική διερεύνηση των τοπικών εδαφικών συνθηκών σε σταθμό του εθνικού δικτύου επιταχυνσιογραφων στη Θεσσαλονίκη = Geophysical investigation of the local site conditions at a station of the National Network of Accelerographs in Thessaloniki.
Περίληψη
The aim of the present paper is the study of the local site conditions at a station of the National Network of accelerographs in Thessaloniki by the implementation of geophysical investigation methods and the construction of a model that will describe these conditions. After the application of seismic and electrical methods, Microtremor measurements (HVSR method) and the processing of seismic data from the accelerograph STL1 near Paulos Melas camp (Polichni, Thessaloniki), a 3-layer model was found. This model helps distinguish a surface layer approximately 10-12 meters thick, which has high resistιvities and relatively small velocities of longitudinal and transverse waves and this layer also composes of depositions of coarse-grained materials. Another layer that extends up to 30-35 meters of depth follows, where resistivities diminish and velocities increase with a graduate transition towards more fine-grained materials and compact clay. Finally, a third layer is being observed and it extends to a depth of roughly 100-150 meters and crystal metamorphic and more compact rocks of bedrock follow.
