Κλιματικά οφέλη από τον μετριασμό του μεθανίου = Climate benefits from methane mitigation.
Περίληψη
In this study, the climate benefits of methane mitigation are examined. More specifically, the effect on surface temperature and temperature per latitude and per atmospheric pressure are examined. The study is about the periods 2031-2050 and 2080-2099. The effects on temperature of mitigating methane emissions and emissions of near-term climate forcers including methane (NTCF) and excluding methane (NMNTCF) are also analyzed. Based on the results, mitigating emissions of NMNTCF will improve air quality and cause an increase in temperature. However, mitigation of NTCF emissions will result in further improvement of air quality and global warming. Consequently, mitigation of methane emissions can offset the warming caused by reducing NMNTCF. Finally, based on the results, reducing only methane emissions will cause a decrease in temperature.
