Technical and Economic Evaluation of Drill Bits = Τεχνική και Οικονομική Αξιολόγηση των Κοπτικών Άκρων.

The aim of the present thesis was the technical and economic evaluation of drill bits used in three wells in Northern Greeece: the two neighboring wells of Nestos 1 and Nestos 2 which are located close to Nestos Delta and the third well of Komotini which is located nearby Vistonida Lake. The technical evaluation was based on formation drillability which was computed by specific energy, a parameter which is dependent on available drilling data such as, bit type and size, weight applied on bit, rotary speed and penetration rate. Then, formation pore pressure was estimated based on d-exponent method. As for the economic evaluation of drill bits, this was determined by the computation of cost per drilled foot. Finally, drillability and cost per foot of the two neighboring wells were compared.

Σκοπός της διατριβής ήταν η τεχνική και οικονομική αξιολόγηση των κοπτικών άκρων που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν στην όρυξη των τριών γεωτρήσεων στην Βόρεια Ελλάδα: τις δύο γειτονικές γεωτρήσεις Νέστος 1 και Νέστος 2 κοντά στο Δέλτα του Νέστου και την γεώτρηση Κομοτηνής κοντά στην Λίμνη Βιστωνίδα. Η τεχνική αξιολόγηση βασίστηκε στην διατρησιμότητα των πετρωμάτων η οποία προσδιορίστηκε μέσω της ειδικής ενέργειας, μιας παραμέτρου που υπολογίστηκε με βάση τα διαθέσιμα δεδομένα διάτρησης όπως, τύπος και μέγεθος κοπτικού άκρου, εφαρμοζόμενο βάρος επί του κοπτικού άκρου, ταχύτητα περιστροφής και ρυθμός διείσδυσης. Στην συνέχεια, εκτιμήθηκε η πίεση των σχηματισμών με βάση την μέθοδο του εκθέτη d. Όσον αφορά την οικονομική αξιολόγηση των κοπτικών άκρων, αυτή στηρίχθηκε στον υπολογισμό του κόστους ανά πόδι διάτρησης. Τέλος, συγκρίθηκε τόσο η διατρησιμότητα όσο και το κόστος ανά πόδι μεταξύ των δύο γειτονικών γεωτρήσεων.
