Περίληψη


The purpose of this thesis is to examine and present the technical challenges and solutions in drilling for exploration and production of hydrocarbons, in offshore environments under the presence of high sea water column. Additionally, we will try to give an answer whether and when it is economically and technically feasible to undertake such operations. The research was based on existing bibliography, articles and papers. Two major categories of deepwater problems are considered. The first category is associated with the deepwater drilling facilities: platforms, drill ships, floating drilling, production, storage and offloading units (FDPSOs), and the subsea systems. The other category encompasses the challenges associated with operations, like: station keeping, drilling risers, subsea BOPs and wellheads, drilling operations (narrow drilling window, well control, drilling fluids, casing & cementing), as well as other technical challenges (high-pressure/high-temperature wells, salt drilling, remotely operated vehicles). Solutions to these problems adopted by the oil industry are also presented

Σκοπός αυτής της διατριβής είναι να εξετάσει και να παρουσιάσει τις τεχνικές προκλήσεις και λύσεις στις γεωτρήσεις για έρευνα και παραγωγή υδρογονανθράκων, σε θαλάσσια περιβάλλοντα με μεγάλο βάθος θάλασσας. Επιπλέον, θα προσπαθήσουμε να δώσουμε μια απάντηση αν είναι τεχνικά και οικονομικά δυνατό να γίνουν τέτοιες επιχειρήσεις. Η έρευνα βασίστηκε σε υπάρχουσα βιβλιογραφία, άρθρα και δημοσιεύσεις. Δύο κύριες κατηγορίες προβλημάτων στις βαθιές θάλασσες υπάρχουν. Η πρώτη σχετίζεται με τις εγκαταστάσεις/υποδομές : πλατφόρμες, γεωτρητικά πλοία, μονάδες γεώτρησης, παραγωγής, αποθήκευσης και μεταφόρτωσης (FDPSO) και τέλος τα επιπυθμένια συστήματα. Ή άλλη κατηγορία αφορά τις προκλήσεις σχετικές με την επιχείρηση αυτή καθαυτή, όπως: σταθεροποίηση της πλατφόρμας, γεωτριτικά risers, επιπυθμένιο BOP και κεφαλή γεώτρησης, διαδικασία γεώτρησης (στενό γεωτρητικό παράθυρο, έλεγχος γεώτρησης, γεωτρητικός πολφός, casing και τσιμέντωση), όπως και άλλες τεχνικές προκλήσεις (υψηλές πιέσεις και θερμοκρασίες, γεώτρηση σε ζώνες άλατος κτλ). Οι λύσεις στα παραπάνω προβλήματα παρουσιάζονται στην παρούσα διατριβή.
