Περίληψη


Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία αφορά επτά ορυκτά του μαγγανίου που παρουσιάζουν ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον. Πρόκειται για τα ορυκτά οξείδια του μαγγανίου: Πυρολουσίτη, Μπιρνεσίτη, Βερναδίτη και Τοδοροκίτη, για τον πυρόξενο Γιοχανσενίτη, για τον γρανάτη Σπεσσαρτίνη και για το ανθρακικό ορυκτό Ροδοχρωσίτη. Περιγράφονται γενικά χαρακτηριστικά αυτών, αλλά και πιο συγκεκριμένες πληροφορίες όπως είναι η χημική σύσταση, η δομή, η εμφάνιση, οι μετατροπές σε άλλα ορυκτά καθώς και η σχέση τους με αυτά. Μετά από την ανάλυση των ορυκτών αναφέρονται οι κόνδυλοι μαγγανίου και το πως αυτοί σχετίζονται με τρία από τα παραπάνω ορυκτά του μαγγανίου.

This bachelor thesis deals with Ultrahigh Pressure Metamorphism (UHP), the metamorphic conditions and the mineral assemblages that occur. Eclogites are the products of UHP metamorphism and they consist mainly of garnet and omphacite. Depending on the composition of the protolith, metamorphism at great depths produces coesite, microdiamonds and other UHP minerals with unusual compositions. Finally, the areas where eclogites with coesite and microdiamonds occur are described.
